Vending at the Vampire Ball

I'm excited to announce that I will be bringing my jewelry creations to a table near you (the 2011 Vampire Masquerade Ball in March). Before that date, I hope to have a few items for men available and to have more than begun work with precious metal clay. I probably will also bring a few vintage and antique goodies.

Come look for me and say hello, if nothing else! Luckily, I will have a wonderful booth partner, so I'll be able to get up and out and have even more fun--but I might get a little lonely. :)

Welcome to my blog!

I probably should have started this blog a while ago. I, at least, would be interested in tracking various progressions in my work. There is no time like the present to begin.

Recently, I gave in and am planning a release of steampunk-inspired pieces. I wore antique skeleton keys as jewelry before steampunk was even a word. Frankly, I have become disillusioned with the fad steampunk has become. This frustrates me because I love this aesthetic so much!

My solution to this conundrum is to be sure to create extraordinary pieces for this collection. It will not be run-of-the-mill jewelry. In my eyes, much steampunk jewelry design is run-of-the-mill and trite. I hope to knock some socks off with my collection and future pieces.

In other news, I regret I still have not been able to take the PMC (precious metal clay) classes I've wanted to, but will as soon as I am able. Scheduling just has not worked out. Initially, I'd planned on taking only silver PMC classes. However, in the light of my recent commitment to steampunk, I believe copper and bronze classes are in order.

I am excited for some absolutely stunning carved rainbow moonstone beads to arrive soon. I found these in a local bead shop for (if I recall correctly) $225 per strand. I realized just what the markup was when I found them at an online bead store for so much less. These beads are *magical*.

Finally, once I have the capital, I plan to release a very limited number of very special pendants/necklaces created only with AAA gemstones--probably initially in shades of purple and blue. I have been sitting on this idea for months--but it will have to wait since I insist on the highest quality beads for this project.

Thank you for reading my post (10-10-10)! I will post promotions, sales, new releases, and other information here, so I hope you'll bookmark this page.
